As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance the skills of journalists and content creators in modern technology, the MENA Editors Network announced the graduation of a new group of participants in the Drone Training Program for Media and Business, organized in collaboration with Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa and the Turkish Civil Aviation Authority.
The trainees received officially accredited certificates from the Continuing Education Center at Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa, along with professional licenses authorizing them to operate smart drones for media production and aerial photography in accordance with Turkish aviation regulations.
The program, held throughout October 2025, offered intensive practical training covering the technical, legal, and media applications of drone use. It included sessions led by Turkish experts and hands-on exercises in real-world filming environments.
In an exclusive statement to the Network’s website, Aboubakr Ibrahimoglu, Director of the MENA Editors Network, said:
“This program represents a strategic step toward empowering a new generation of media professionals with the tools of the future. Integrating drone technology into journalism opens new horizons for creative production and enhances the quality of field and visual coverage in today’s media landscape.”
This initiative is part of a series of specialized training programs organized by the Network in partnership with Turkish universities and international institutions as part of its vision to empower Arab journalists with advanced digital and production tools for the modern media era.
