In its monthly meeting, the Board of Directors of the MENA Editors Network decided to accept the membership of journalists and media professionals from Palestinian communities within Israel. This step aims to strengthen their media presence and support their efforts to preserve their Palestinian identity despite the challenges they face.
In this context, the Secretary-General of the Network, Ismail Al-Qreitli, stated:
“This decision reaffirms the network’s commitment to supporting Arab journalists and media professionals wherever they are, especially Palestinians within Israel, who face unprecedented challenges in maintaining their identity and media rights. We believe that their membership in the network will enhance their ability to amplify their voices and strengthen their presence in the Arab and international media landscape.”
Al-Qreitli added that the network is coordinating efforts with Palestinian media leaders within Israel to establish a structured membership process, ensuring effective engagement that serves common goals.
This decision aligns with the network’s mission to provide professional platforms for Arab journalists, foster cross-border media collaboration, and contribute to developing independent journalism that serves just causes and upholds freedom of expression.
